Coleslaw salad called slaw, is a raw cabbage salad famous in the USA. Coleslaw is generally eaten as a side dish or as a sandwich ingredient being placed on hamburgers, pulled pork and hot dogs along with fries and varoius sauces.

What do you need?
1 medium sized cabbage (500g), you can choose green cabbage, purple cabbage or a mix of both for a multi-colored salad
2 carrots
2 green onions (optional)
4 tablespoons of mayonnaise (80 gr)
2 teaspoons of white vinegar
black pepper to taste
salt to taste
How to proceed?
Thinly slice the cabbage.
Grate the carrots on the large side of the greater.
Slice the onions.
Place the cabbage, carrots, and onions in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl, stir the mayonnaise, vinegar, salt, and pepper together. Taste for seasoning then adjust as desired.
Ad little by little the dressing over the mix of sliced cabbage, carrots, and onions and stir gently. If the coleslaw seems dry add a little more of the dressing till all the cabbage is coated.
NOTES:
For a lighter version of this salad, make this recipe replacing half the quantity of mayonnaise with plain greek yogurt and it will turns out as delicious!
Make the salad ahead of time and let it sit in the refrigerator for an hour to let the flavors mix and the cabbage to soften.
