Easter festivities

Aggiornamento: 15 apr 2022

Easter, like many other holidays, holds various traditions that change around the globe!

In some countries, people celebrate Easter by dying the eggs and organizing an egg hunt on Easter Sunday.

In other countries, like Lebanon, for example the tradition is a little different. First, the eggs are colored in the traditional way with skins of red and yellow onions. Families gather for an Easter Sunday lunch, that ends with an egg-tapping game. Each one chooses a colored boiled egg. Then each person taps the egg of another person. If your egg breaks, you are out. The winner is the one who will stay last with an unbroken egg!

In Italy, eggs are the symbol of rebirth and renewal. Traditionally, Italians created natural food dyes to brightly decorate eggs, which were then incorporated into Easter lunch. On Monday after Easter, Pasquetta, known as Little Easter, is celebrated. It is a favorite springtime tradition for Italians, where families and friends get together for food and festivities, usually out in the nature.

Wherever you are , if you celebrate Easter, the lunch on Easter Sunday with family and friends is a must! Therefore we chose a simple menu that holds mouthwatering dishes perefect for the spring season and occasion:

Happy Easter!
