What do you need?
500gr of bread flour.
1 tsp sugar.
1 tsp salt.
9gr of dry yeast.
1 cup of full fat lukewarm milk.
1/2 cup of lukewarm water.
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil.
How to proceed?
In a mixing bowl dissolve the yeast and sugar into the milk and water and set aside for 10 minutes until it forth.
On another bowl, add the bread flour, salt and olive oil.
Pour in the yeast mixture and, using your hands or a stand mixer, knead until the dough is soft, elastic and a bit sticky.
Cover and let it rest for 1 hour.
Split the dough into 8 equal sized portions, shape them into a ball and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Using your hands or a rolling pin, roll each ball out into a round disk.
On a medium heat warm a non-stick, heavy pan. Cook the pitas bread for 2 minutes on each side or until browned.
Serve warm.
