Few years back we have decided to buy our own lemon tree and have our homemade biological lemon production. A real km zero lemon!
For a couple of years we have been taking care of our tree, we cultivate it with a strictly organic method and every year it gave us many fragrant fruits…. And this year, thanks to a dear friend from Calabria, we were lucky to receive a lot of splendid Calabrian organic lemons, so we decided to preserve them!
To do some experiments: we tried a delicious lemon jam, a fragrant Moroccan preserved lemons and a spicy Mantuan lemon mustard! We explored as well some chemistry topics with the kids explaining lactic fermentation and sterilization methods!
In all these recipes, you must use organic lemons because you will use the lemon peel and it should not be chemically treated!
