Pizza margherita and more

The pizza margherita recipe is the basis for any type of pizza! If you like an even simpler pizza you can prepare the pizza marinara (without mozzarella and flavored with a few pieces of garlic); if you love richer pizzas, before cooking you can add cooked ham, sautéed mushrooms, grilled vegetables, artichokes, fresh tomatoes etc…

Cooking time: 30 mins

Prep time: 15 mins + the dough resting time

Ingredients for 2 baking trays

What do you need?

  • Dough for pizza or focaccia

  • 300 gr of tomato puree

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of spoon oregano

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

  • 300 gr of fresh mozzarella

How to proceed?

  1. Season the tomato puree with oil, salt and oregano.

  2. Prepare the baking trays: remember to use a baking paper or to oil the trays before rolling out the dough.

  3. Roll out the dough on the prepared baking trays.

  4. Spread the tomato sauce over the dough. Top with diced mozzarella.

  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the cheese is melted and is golden brown.

Notes

  • If you want a pizza like in a pizzeria, try to roll out the dough by hand without using the rolling pin, (remember that the hands must be a bit wet).
