Sangría is an alcoholic drink made from wine, spices and fruit, originally from the Iberian Peninsula.
There are various recipes of sangria, depending on the region. Sangria is commonly made with red wine but in Catalonia there is also a recipe based on sparkling or white wines (sangria de cava).
What do you need
1.5 liters of red wine
1/2 liter of soda
50 ml of Brandy
2 oranges (organic)
1-2 lemons (organic)
2 peaches
1 apples
80 grams of sugar
4 cloves
1 vanilla pod
a few cinnamon sticks
Ice
How to proceed
To prepare the sangria, start washing the fruit well which, if organic, you can use with the peel.
Cut the peaches and apple into small pieces and put them in a large bowl.
Add the sliced orange and lemon, then add the sugar.
Add the aromas: cinnamon, vanilla pod and cloves, and again the Brandy and red wine.
Mix everything well to completely dissolve the sugar, then cover with cling film and leave to macerate in the refrigerator for 5-6 hours or even better a whole night.
After this time, take the bowl and add the soda.
Your red sangria is ready, serve it by adding ice cubes to the glasses, it's delicious just frozen!
Note
To prepare an excellent sangria it is important to use fresh, ripe but firm fruit, possibly organic, in order to use the peel in complete safety. The fruit must be kept in wine maceration for several hours (at least 5-6 hours), even a whole night is fine. However, if you do not consume it all and want to keep it, you must remove the fruit from the wine to prevent it from becoming too soft and disturbing the overall flavor. With these small tricks you will see that preparing this drink at home is very simple, gives excellent results and served on the table including fruit, in a large container, where each diner can serve himself using a special ladle made available in the bowl, it will also be very scenographic!
