What do you need?
300 gr squids
2 garlic cloves
2 tablespoon of parsley
1 egg
4 tablespoons of bread crumbs
1 teaspoon of salt
Pepper to taste
2 cups of flour
Vegetable oil for frying
How to proceed?
Place squid, garlic, parsley, egg, breadcrumbs, pepper and salt into the bowl of a food processor.
Blend the ingredients until it reaches a paste consistency.
Form the mixture into balls using two spoons or wet hands.
Pass the balls in the flour.
In a pan, heat the oil to the right temperature. Fry the balls until golden brown.
Drain on a plate covered with absorbent paper.
Serve while hot with a delicious homemade mayo or a creamy guacamole.
Notes:
Remember the key to having the perfect tastiest fried food is heating the oil to the right temperature. Between 175°C and 185°C is generally considered the best frying temperature. A useful trick to know if the oil reached the right temperature is to place the handle of a wooden spoon in the oil. The oil is ready when bubbles begin to appear around the tip of the handle.
Do not overcrowd the pan, fry few squid balls at a time.
